A Breath of Fresh Air (2020)

Role: Youth Exhibition Curator & Program Coordinator
This highlighted the creativity of Atlanta Public School students from Jean Childs Young Middle School and Benjamin E. Mays High School at Sip Museum. Students presented works across a range of mediums, including sculpture, painting, and illustration. K. Medulla collaborated with teachers to curate and install the exhibition, while also designing the flyer and digital marketing materials. She visited classrooms to share her career journey and connect with students as they created art.
The exhibition opening united families, educators, and community members, supported by videographers who documented the event. To deepen the impact, Black author Joshua Keller shared his books, including Nasir Perseveres, empowering students to face life’s challenges and view entrepreneurship as a path forward. The event blended art, literature, and community, leaving a lasting impression on students and families alike.
Curated the full exhibition, selecting student artworks across sculpture, painting, and illustration and organizing them into a cohesive visual narrative.
Managed installation, including wall layouts, display strategies, mounting, labeling, and visitor flow within Sip Museum
Collaborated with APS teachers, coordinating artwork delivery, deadlines, student contribution processes, and classroom integration
Designed all promotional materials, including the exhibition flyer, digital marketing assets, and Instagram announcements to promote community engagement
Visited classrooms, providing mentorship, sharing career insights, and supporting students as they developed their exhibition pieces
Coordinated opening reception logistics, including setup, volunteer support, signage creation, and event flow
Worked with audiovisual teams, including videographers documenting the event
Organized an author engagement session, featuring Black author Joshua Keller to provide literacy-based inspiration and entrepreneurial messaging for students
