“A Breath of Fresh Air” Student Art Showcase

“A Breathe of Fresh Air” highlighted the creativity of Atlanta Public School students from Jean Childs Young Middle School and Benjamin E. Mays High School at Sip Museum. Students presented a range of mediums from sculpture to painting and illustration. K. Medulla collaborated with teachers to curate and install the exhibition, while also designing the flyer and digital marketing. She visited classrooms to share her career journey and connect with students as they created art.

The exhibition opening united families, educators, and the community, supported by videographers who documented the event. To deepen the impact, Black author Joshua Keller shared his books such as Nasir Perseveres, empowering students to face life’s challenges and see entrepreneurship as a path forward. The event blended art, literature, and community, leaving a lasting impression on students and families alike.

"A fresh perspective through the eyes of young artists."

The exhibition’s mission was to give students the opportunity to see their artwork celebrated in a professional gallery setting. This experience not only built pride and confidence but also strengthened ties between schools, families, and the broader Atlanta art community.
